5 THE ITALIAN LAW JOURNAL NO. 2 (2019) Rousseau on War by Gianluca Sadun-Bordoni Rousseau’s theory of war codified the classical laws of war, as a relation between States, providing a paradigmatic vison of the anarchy of the international system. He was an early critic of theories such as domestic analogy, democratic peace, and the liberal faith in globalization.
